Welcome
to
St. Paul’s Parish
St. Paul’s is a parish of the diocese of the Eastern
United States, Anglican Province of America, part of the historic Holy
Catholic Church, tracing its teaching and ministry to the early Apostolic
Church. It is part of the worldwide Continuing Anglican movement.
In worship, we use the Book of Common Prayer, 1928 edition.
This edition contains prayers and affirmations of faith dating to the
beginning of Christianity, as well as the traditional Anglican/Episcopal
liturgy. This liturgy has been in continuous use since it was first published
in 1549.
The congregation actively participates in the service.
As an expression of devotion, it is customary to kneel for prayers unless
a person is physically unable to do so. We stand in reverence at the reading
of the Holy Gospel and in affirming our faith when reciting the Creed.
We also stand to sing praise to God in our hymns.
All baptized and confirmed persons who believe in the
Real Presence of Christ in the Sacrament, are admitted to Holy Communion
in their own churches, and are spiritually prepared to receive the Sacred
Body and Blood, are welcome to receive Communion at this Mass.
COLLECT
O God, who by the preaching of thine apostle Paul hast
caused The light of the Gospel to shine throughout the world: Grant, we
beseech thee, that we, having his wonderful conversion in remembrance,
may show forth our thankfulness unto thee for the same by following the
holy doctrine which he taught; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth
and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now
and for ever.
